If they are the only choices, I would say stones. Put the Dead, the Band and Floyd in there and the whole thing changes.

I agree, that's not the options. It's a hard choice, I think.

i find it a little "apples and oranges". beatles more 'pop', and the stones decidedly rock.
but at the end f the day, if we are talking pure rock, electric blues based and all that....
then it's gotta be Led Zeppelin

That's a no brainer...The Stones. The Beatles were all show. Over rated as musicians.

 Thanks for posting the Stones/Beatles debate. I really hate rap.

I firmly believe in the theory pointed out by Dr. Morris Massey of "Why You Are Is Where You Were When". I was a sophomore in college when the Beatles stormed the music world. I loved their music and had several of their albums, but never saw a single movie - but the hype and success still left an impression on my mold-able and formative business mind. OTOH I remember as a 13 year old kid watching Elvis on Ed Sullivan along with my 17 year old sister who was going bonkers in front of our 19" B & W TV all the while my Father was at the back of the room bitching like a mad man at my sister who by then was screaming and jumping up and down!
