Tomato Pie question.

I'm taking a stab at the tomato pie recipe today and was wondering if anyone has used sour cream instead of mayo? I have a hard time imagining cooking a cup of mayo...freaks me out a little. Or maybe it's because I haven't finished the first cup of coffee yet.
Any other tips would be helpful.

    I have always used the mayo on the tomato pies....You really don't taste the mayo.

    Hi...use the mayo. Trust's wonderful and it's a tried and true Southern recipe that has been around for years. Sour cream could curdle slightly and will make the pie runny. I have used 3/4 cup mayo in the past and that works too. Don't use low fat mayo either. You will love the pie. I think I'll make one today too. Peggy

    Great pictures... my bro has tomatoes coming out his ears right now from his hydoponic garden so I'll make one for him too.
