Good Morning Eggers.....

I'm cooking bone-in chicken thighs tonight, that have been sitting in Stubbs Chicken Marinade overnight.
I might end up using a little dry rub before the hit the fire.

It probably doesn't need it but... does anyone have a sauce receipe they used for chicken?

THANK YOU !

    Depends on what you're after.

I personally like to make a batch of white sauce similar to what they use at Gibson's - but I kinda have to be in the mood for it.

Sometimes I like a really spicy sauce.

And like Randy, sometimes Blues Hog is what it needs. I guess it depends on your sides. Blues Hog coated chicken goes really well with some nice fresh sweet corn.

You're right mood definitely dictates the sauce selection. -RP

You are due an honor, by the way.

I told my wife last night that I was going by the butcher today to pick up a couple nice steaks for Mother's Day. I had some nice dry-aged stuff set aside to pick up.

She requested instead that I prepare "that spicy chicken" - you know, "The" chicken.

I've made that no less than 20 times and it is truly a family favorite. Thanks again for that great recipe.

That's why you have to have 6-10 bottles of sauce and a variety of rubs, so you can catch the mood.

You are welcome, it always amazes me how you can put everything hot known to man in that sauce and the chicken doesn't come out all that spicy. Tell her happy Mothers Day! -RP

Wanted to go but went to a Rod Grey/Johnny Trigg BBQ class the week before. Couldn't swing both.

Well…this thread is 13 years old so I wouldn’t expect those guys to be paying attn. “The Chicken” is an old school recipe that has been on here since well before I joined in 2012. here is the link to it if you want to try it: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/thechicken.htm
