Happy Canada Day!

What’s everyone cooking? I’m doing lime and coconut grilled shrimp skewers then a pork butt on my wife’s cousin’s new LBGE.

Happy Canada Day (formerly Dominion Day) to all our members from the GWN.
Best of luck in the Round of 16 on USA B'day 250!

You're a better cook/influencer than me, I couldn't give away a brand new LBGE to any of my kids  :)

@paqman You are brave, from your Gozney? I heard Ottawa's evening show and fireworks are both cancelled, bummer 😔

Our storm didn't materialise this evening but I wasn't planning to make pizza outside anyway, even if the heat index is not in the 40C's. Used my new indoor toy instead...

    Thanks @YukonRon

Our usual go to is pepperoni (least work). The veggie with chorizo was good (second from top right), so was zucchini with pesto sauce and parmesan (first time).

However, what we really like but don't make them enough (labour intensive) are Korean pulled pork with Kimchi, and goat cheese with caramelised onion.

Thanks for all the well-wishes to us Canucks.

Apparently, I didn’t get the memo about pizza being the celebratory choice. Great looking pies, @paqman, @Canugghead. That Gourmia got quite a workout!

Was at a cottage all day and did a lot of driving in torrential rain on the way back while hearing bits and pieces about the weather in Ottawa. Was home not two minutes and got a call that my parents’ place had flooded, so drove across town to try to help out. Seems there was quite a bit of flooding around town. Lots of power outages, also.

First up- glad @Canugghead sorted out how to surface.   Great pies right there, as always.
@GrateEggspectations - hope the flooding was localized and minimal as water can do a whole lot of damage.

Thanks, Cap! Not too bad, as it was only a few inches. Some neighbours got it far worse. And this is my folks’ fifth flood in their current home, the last one having been eight years ago, so this is far from their first rodeo (unfortunately).

Yes, on the Gozney, I rolled it underneath the gazebo.  I don’t mind a little rain but this one was pretty bad.  Luckily, no damage here.  All shows canceled, people onsite were asked to shelter in nearby museums.

Nice looking pies on an electrical appliance!  How do you like it?

Sorry to hear about your folks' basement flood, that would be my worst nightmare. We have a minor basement wall crack in an unfinished area, it leaks few times a year only when rain comes hard and fast. We lived with it for decades but I've just started a 2-phase diy project to remedy it, phase 1 is done and it's looking good (fingers crossed) after one heavy rainfall and several moderate ones.

Considering it's a wally world el cheapo at $93, not a Breville, I'm very satisfied. I'd give it an 8/10.
-1 for the long recuperation time between pies, about 8 min.
-1 for the pale coloured 'rim', although it's well risen and fully cooked, the bottom char is excellent

Bought it primarity for winter but it's so convenient that I have not used my Pizza Party Adore propane oven since I got this. With the same dough recipe the dough is nice but different, more crispy. It's a cousin of @GlennM's Chefman if I'm not mistaken.

Bentonite? I don’t want to thread cap, but I’m looking at some options using this in our home in NC..

Learned something new, thanks, After regrading the side of my house I was thinking of using the Dricore system to patch and inject foam into the crack from inside. Going to look into Bentonite as well.
