Anyone us a Rocketfire to light their egg?
The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

I use a butane torch, a lot. No worries fires 100% of the time, no waiting until 225°F, just a few minutes more for any other desired temp, using only Rockwood."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

I have a Blackstone and I swapped out the small drip catcher for a Pit boss bucket..I place several single paper towels in the bottom of the bucket. When I throw bacon on the Blackstone, I squeegee the grease into the bucket. Then when lighting the egg, I grab a grease soaked paper towel with my ash tool and bury it into the charcoal.
I leave it for 5-10 minutes with the lid open and I'm rolling..
long way to say 120 bucks to light some charcoal seems like a lot.Have:
XLBGE / Stumps Baby XL / Couple of Stokers (Gen 1 and Gen 3) / Blackstone 36 / Maxey 3x5 water pan hog cooker
Had:
LBGE / Lang 60D / Cookshack SM150 / Stumps Stretch / Stumps Baby
Fat Willies BBQ

I’m still rocking my JJ George grill torch I got years ago when I cooked at the Indy EggFest.~ John - Formerly known as ColtsFan - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

paper towel and cooking oil is just too convenient for me. canola starts to go rancid so i replace the gallon once a year and date the new jug. old stuff is kept in the gasser cabinet. hole drilled in the cover with a roofing nail closing the hole. makes for no mess. gave up years ago with the propane torches, weed burners, mapp....soaking paper towels for a week or year supply works better, but im too lazyfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Absolutely love this thing. Gets the fire going 3-5 times faster than the LooftThe problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

Just bought a torch head for soldering so I will try that 1st.
I've used weber wax cubes for years but can change..Faster light is not an issue, but rather which is the cleanest way to light it. Also? Starting with chimney for large fires is one thing but I must now figure out the 'small' fire for smoking..... -
