In the hospital overnight. Echo cardio, EKG, x-ray, and at least 5 people listened to my lungs. Possible post flu pneumonia, they will cat scan tomorrow to be sure. Oh least not forget a massive shot in the rump of antibiotic.
Hopefully they can diagnose and treat you!
Back home now. No pneumonia or tumors though it seems that I am not breathing all the way to the bottom of the right lung.Drugs dosage adjusted and now on blood thinners for life. Seems to be A Fib.

eliquis for life here. really highlights the black and blues. did you get that crazy flu this winter, it really screwed me up for the last 2 months breathing wise, the cough is just fading away now

I feel that way, but mine is due to lawyers.  I would rather at least have had a fun luge at the start.

Eliquis also. The co pay is cheaper than I dreaded. I had that flu also. It drove me into a
SVT and ER visit about  month ago. Medicare and Blue Cross are going to love me.

A bit less than half of what you are paying and a bit more than twice what your friend is paying. All in all better than when my sister was on a blood thinner a year or two post Covid. Her drug plan wouldn't pay at all and the price was shall we say substantial.

Sitting in DAL on a 3 hr delay.

Positive, its only about 1/2 full.
Negative, 3 sit down restaurants are all full.
XLBGE, LBGECharbroil Gas Grill, Weber Q200, Old Weber Kettle, Rectec RT-B380, Yeti 65, Yeti Hopper 20, RTIC 20, RTIC 20 Soft Side - Too many drinkware vessels to mention.

Not quite in Austin, TX City Limits
Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.

So it was quite the day yesterday:

    https://abc7ny.com/amp/post/singapore-airlines-plane-clips-wing-spirit-flight-newark-airport-nj/18672298/

We were all sent to one of two restaurants in the airport, for about four hours while they repaired our plane.  I’m kind of surprised it wasn’t a lot longer than that, looking at what happened to the tail of the Frontier plane.

Anyway I’m in Singapore now catching a quick lunch before joining meetings in the afternoon.  It’s actually a pretty nice day here.  View from the hotel:

  • I guess we could say you were unlucky, @JohnInCarolina. But as airplane malfunctions go, I think the opposite. Glad it all seemed to work out.

Was it one of Fieri’s restaurants that you were sent to?

    Keep the photos coming.

He!! of a way to start the trip.  I'm sure the airlines went out of their way to ease the pain of the delay during your flight.
Raffles Hotel on your non business tourist side of the trip for a Singapore Sling??

new is better =)  was going thru the new high school in town, buckets everywhere where the rain drips thru the roof. they built it without classroom walls, open concept teaching with 6 to 8 different classrooms in the same room.

they turned the old school into city hall and theres lots of workers there that want a new city hall built. heres city hall, the gatehouse, and the  billionaire builders estate

Reading applications for the DOE's flagship computational science graduate fellowship program.  Awards provide full tuition and full stipend for four years at the very best institutions in the US.  Each one takes me a good half hour to read.  It's a tough slog.
I have done my fair share of this kind of review and agree on the slog, but always marveled at how many students impressed the he!! out of me. Also… if you have time to go to the night zoo in Singapore it is a really interesting zoo concept.

"Explain it like I'm five" (often abbreviated as ELI5) is a request to simplify a complex topic using basic language, relatable analogies, and zero technical jargon.
    Core Principles
The goal is to provide a "big picture" understanding that anyone—even someone with no background in the subject—can grasp.

    • Simple Language: Use common words and avoid "robot talk" or industry-specific terms.
    • Relatable Analogies: Compare abstract ideas to everyday things (e.g., explaining gravity like a ball rolling down a hill).
    • Friendly Tone: It is a figure of speech meant to be helpful, not literally talking down to someone or using "baby talk".
    • Logical Steps: Break down processes into clear, easy-to-follow

I think there is maybe a way to turn all of that crap off, but I haven’t looked into it.  I just ignore it.

A few more pics from Singapore:

That last one is a dessert they served us last night.  Some kind of mango lassie thing with boba, and dry ice around the perimeter to keep it all very cold.  It was delicious.

And because you guys will ask, no I did not take a picture of the police station because I did something stupid like try and chew gum in the city, thank you very much.
