It’s been a long time coming, but the new BGE XL Rotisseries are finally hitting the shelves…and it was worth the wait!
Most of you know that I’ve cooked on the new design a few times, but it’s been a while. So I just did a simple Mezcal marinated whole chicken and after about 3 hours at 350° (most of it with the dome closed), it was done.

I don’t know what it is, but cooking with a rotisserie is just fun…and man, it puts out a damn tasty product! Being able to clean it up and store in the hard case, is so much better than the “ring” style.

Very interesting. I have been trying to convince myself to buy one for the large. Hmmm? Maybe a post Christmas present to myself.

I love this.We just don’t do rotisserie chickens much anymore. When you can buy a $5 chicken cooked at Costco across from the $7 raw chickens, it became absurd. We get them now, even when we think we might not even eat them. I make a lot of stock…I know. I know. I KNOW.
… that being said…
can you post your Mezcal marinade for me, please?
also - don’t know if it help with this rig, but we got extra spiky bracket things to make doing more than one easier. Something along this line (our actual ones aren’t sold anymore):Large BGE and Medium BGE

Yeah…seems to be the same with most proteins…but at least doing my own, I can cook with my own flavor profiles!MaskedMarvel said:I love this.We just don’t do rotisserie chickens much anymore. Here’s the base recipe. I changed some stuff, including Mezcal instead of tequila, but you get the idea.Craig aka Cmac Cooks

This sounds amazing. I have the JoeTisserie set up for my XL so I can't just buying another spinner, but I will definitely be giving this recipe a try once I'm mobile.MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.
