Myself and SWMBO were getting set up to photograph the super moon. SWMBO looked through the viewfinder of her camera and was quick enough to capture this;

We've been trying to get a shot like that for years.

Great photo.
Better to be lucky than good right there!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Where is the American Flag that was stuck on the surface when they said we "landed on the Moon"
. Oh wait, we need a Kaleidoscope to imagine that. But that is a really great picture. -
ok… not as nice as yours but this mosquito was desperate to be part of the picture 🤣

about 5B people have access to the internet!
way way less obviously would have been in the line of sight of that plane and moon combo. and so many fewer taking a pic at that second. a higher likelihood due to harvest moon.
fun stuff and thanks for sharing
reminds me of the ET movie. and has some strong neil young harvest moon vibes.

I think that's the same plane. Neat capture from Ottawa.alaskanassasin said:You weren’t the only one! Very cool.

I think a lot of people were pointing their cameras at the moon that night @Stormbringer story is way cooler though.South of Columbus, Ohio.

Beautiful, atmospheric shot! I love it.It reminds me of a (rather distant) time when I was passionate about astrophotography and spent hours in the backyard with my telescope.
It used to sit exactly where I now have a strange green ceramic cocoon! -
I love that image! Thank you for sharing. This was mine @14,000+ asf. This mountain goat followed us to the peak and photobombed us.

Zoom in look over Suzy’s shoulder in the back. UUnbelievable climb for us, given the bad knees, ankles, hips and back. We always take a victory image and this was timed…tried four times to get it. Then just said flicker it, we are just going to take this one and head back down, after 4-5 times at a timed flash, (usually it is a tight hug and a kiss). We had no idea until we got home.I had knee surgery 6 weeks before. We had never thought we would summit."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

@YukonRon, I am so amazed, and jealous!
Since having two PEs over the last few years, I have trouble climbing my basement stairs on laundry day. I miss the old days.

Thank you for the kindness….but the next weeks were not so celebratory I promise. Uphill was tough, down hill, carrying a backpack, was insane on the recent attempt of a knee repair, which left it with zero stability. Yeah, good times. 😃Botch said:@YukonRon, I am so amazed, and jealous!

The next opportunity to do this will be on 5-Nov-2025. The moon will be clearly visible over the UK and much of North America. I'm planning on pointing the camera at the moon and recording 1 minute intervals at 4K / 60 FPS in the hope of getting a video like the one above ...

If you are really committed to the art, you could always charter a plane to fly across it for you.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I did, unfortunately complete cloud cover for the last two nights. But I will keep trying. Also, I'm going to an event at our local photography store about astrophotography, they might have some hints.-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Granddaughter was taking a couple of pictures at sunset on 30A. We did not dress for pictures nor did we pose the poodle Salt. This picture just happened and i thought it was outstanding.
Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.
