Jack In The Box - Crazy People

They opened a Jack In The Box about a week ago about a 2 miles from our house. I pass by there a few times a week in errands. The drive up line has been packed with cars backed up onto the road with their hazard lights on. This is the first one in IL in decades, but seriously, it’s fast food. I think it’s crazy.

Mike - after the lines and hoopla subsides why don't you do a Chicagoland style review of the food? I might be tempted to drive up for a Chicago Eggfest but doubt I'll make it for Jack In The Box, let alone an In & Out burger joint if one of those make it there from the west coast. We finally got a Five Guys joint here and I tried it once and never went back. Guess I'm just burger spoiled by BGE!

  • I’ll keep on the lookout for a Chicago area egg fest. Given how the crowd is right now, it will take a few more weeks for the hype to die down. The same thing happened when we got a Chick Fil A

I could enjoy a CFA vanilla milk shake 6 days a week year around and weigh 600 pounds in 2 years!

When the first In-n-Out Burger opened in Bountiful UT, the lines actually affected traffic on I-15, and cops were everywhere directing traffic for over a year!  A second one opened about a mile from my house two years later, it has a good crowd but none of those lines, don't understand it.

Buddy of mine on FB is thinking about buying a food truck to sell a chicken sammich he is very proud of, and parking it in a Chick-fil-A lot just on Sundays; will be interesting to see what happens if he follows thru.  We're getting both a Panera Bread and a Trader Joe's (finally) both within walking distance by summer's end, I'm pretty stoked about that.

Try the frosted lemonade. It’s a mix of their lemonade and their ice cream.

I don’t get the infatuation with In and Out. I firmly believe that the Southeast is the undisputed king of fast food. There’s a reason for the obesity down here.

Will do - after all I have to wean myself off their milkshakes with the real whipped cream somehow!

On a side note, I thought it was interesting that CFA let construction/renovation workers work on Sundays when the local location was renovated.

Owner brothers Dan & Bubba Cathy don't interfere when the rest of the world works on Sunday.
