Favourite time of the year to egg

Is summer too hot to egg? For us (PNW) egging in the summer helps us not run the oven on a hot day. I like a day after it has snowed a bit, temperature is just below "slush" and I can sit out there with the fire pit roaring.  I also like early morning cooks in summer or late evening in the fall.

I like to Egg in the fall best . Summer is iffy with either torrential rain storms or 97 degree heat with humidity that you could swim in.

Favourite (nod)time would be when we hit daylight saving time.  But on a calendar basis outdoor cooking wins all year round.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

My back patio faces west, and in the summer it's too hot to even step out there.
Since retirement I tend to only eat breakfast (half the time) and lunch (daily).  Hot cooks/grilling just start at 11 am, and longer cooks (4 hrs) start when I get up.
But this extends, for me, to all seasons.  The only thing that alters my cooking is what's at the local farmer's market; getting close to my weight-loss season where, for six weeks or so, I only eat gazpacho.

I tend to have an affinity for the summer, as we host a lot over the warmer months. But I adore Egging in a covered space during heavy precipitation - be it rain or snow - or during a good thunderstorm.

Another vote for crisp Fall - though Winter with snow on the railing behind me makes a nice natural brewski cooler while tending to Mr Egg...

Not necessarily my favorite but,  I love a good freezing sunny day. Maybe 15 deg Fahrenheit... With zero wind and watching the smoke roll straight up 50 ft.  If I'm out walking around the neighborhood I can smell my egg with a pork butt or brisket on it.

^^^ I agree with Kl8ton. Hard to beat rolling smoke on a cool crisp sunny day during the winter. While it's not a picture perfect day by any stretch there is something special about it.

I cook all year its interesting in the summer when the egg might be ~200 before I ever light it.  I do generally cook later so my patio will be in the shade.

My favorite time is every time I am cooking! On the very rare occasion it has snowed in College Station I did not go outside to cook and none of the above posts will entice me to try (except perhaps for the natural beer cooler idea). I also tend to avoid overnight cooks during cicada season because the copperheads are out hunting in full force and I do not want to think about where I am stepping to check the temp.

Fall, specifically October here in New England. Cool but not cold, NFL football on, and Octoberfest beers!  Not wishing summer away, but…
