Sorry, I may have been wrong about the Fruticana part. The guy would make fresh jalebis in front of the shop. Don’t know if he’s still doing it.

Wrap the bottom two and top two wires with foil? Food will still get stuck on the sides but should be less difficult to dislodge?
    Foil😳😳😳😳
Only Teflon coated foil works 🤣  j/k

By same company Kissan in Scarborough Ontario, not sure why they rebrand it as Kisna outside GWN.  ONLY 3% sodium.

I'm a goin' shopping in the local market this coming weekend :)

Thanks for the tips and pointers guys!

The basic marinade is a good rule of thumb that I did not have, so i'm definitely going to try that. I did look at some recipes on Saturday, but my brain was too busy with technique to think about making my own. cheers @caliking

Thanks for the clarification @Canugghead. I got it backwards! The English labelling in the image I posted should have been the clue.

@zaphod - when you go shopping, I highly recommend fresh garlic, and ginger. There are several  brands of ginger and garlic paste in the Indian stores, but none are as good as fresh.

A long time Egger @Skiddymarker lives in Surrey BC too IIRC, have not seen him lately, hope he's doing well.

High school BFF lived in Langley for some time. He took me to a guy making jalebi, in front of a Fruticana, when I visited many many moons ago. I'll try to get the coordinates. Best jalebis I've had outside of the motherland.

I'm sure that there are some eggers around here, but I've never run into any. usually when I am at a dealer, i'm the only one there. They must all be egging at home, or i'm supporting the dealers single handed - my wife is already suspicious of that.  I'd be happy to meet people, but the local BCeggfest died a few years back and doesn't seem to be returning.

I've lived in the Surrey Langley area for over 30 years now, I remember when Fruiticana started up - now they are everywhere!  Coordinates to that one would be great.

May be less Eggers than you would think, not that many I've run into - been in North Delta for 40 years, egging since 2012. Don't think I've been in a local dealer's store in years - my goto is Innovations in Bellingham - although, we are not travelling there as much recently. Still buy my lump and briquettes for the kettle across the line.
@Canugghead - still doing pretty well, nice to get lured back here, lost two hours this morning just browsing! Trust all is well with you.
@caliking - I can't believe you ever had a BFF ;), been a long time - hope all is well!
@zaphod - welcome to the asylum. Keep up with these two, great resource centre, although by the looks of your cook, you are no slouch yourself.

Way to surface @Skiddymarker -  As you likely concluded at the close of your two hour read SOSDD captures most of it although the OT Forum is has evolved over the past few years.  The Buffalo was playing hard ball on the main forum for a while but seems to have mellowed if not disappeared.

Captured it exactly right Lou, but there are always nuggets like the cook above in this thread.

All good on this side, @Skiddymarker! Good to see you pop up. Despite what people say, I do have a few friends... Can't stand everybody else

Used to be in Bellingham once a week or so. I've mellowed on that with kids, exchange rates, and such.  Perhaps we should run into each other. No steak here, but lots of whiskey.

Speaking of Whiskey, with the BC Liquor Stores pulling American brown water, my daughter bought me a bottle of Pike Creek 10 year old Canadian rye, aged in rum barrels.  A fine sipping replacement for bourbon. (never been a single malt lover, but in a pinch....)

someone here recommended Lot 41 rye to me. I got a bottle a few months back, but I go through rye slowly. I'm generally one of those single malt guys more often than not when I'm pouring.
