Broke Out BOB

It was a cold rainy start to the day here, and I found some burnt ends in the freezer so I decided to make a huge batch of chili. Sautéed a couple white onions, added in some 80/20 pork/ground beef mixture, beans, tomatoes, and spices. Letting everything simmer for a couple hours before having some with dinner.

I call this Staub BOB because it weighs 24 lbs empty (13.25 qts). Last time I made a full batch of chili, it tipped the scale at 50 lbs.

For you Texas chili purists, we like beans in our chili - deal with it. 🤣

Looks great! I like beans in my chili too, and occasionally corn.

Corn sounds to me like a crime against humanity, right up there with putting catsup on anything other than French fries.

But, I will dice up some dill pickle and top my chili with that, a dollop of sour cream, and some shredded cheddar.

The acid from the pickles just works.
