My second cutting board from him, this is more of a Cutting Station for Events …2.5 feet Wide. 2 Feet deep. I wanted something I could put a pan under with a cutout to “ scrape scraps “ into … after a few messages back and forth, the final product is amazing… If you are in the market for a custom Board @CTMike doe excellent work!

for scale this is a 18 cutting board on top of, also @CTMike

Thanks for the kind words @lkapigian et al, I appreciate it. I plan to ramp up the woodworking/laser engraving gig after I retire in a few weeks.MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.

- To engrave metal you need a fiber laser
- To engrave wood/slate/mirrors/glass/Yeti-Stanley type powder coated tumblers you can use a CO2 laser (what I have)
- If you want faster engraving on glass you’d want to look at a UV laser
I have a 55 watt 16x24” and a 130 watt 40x63” CO2 lasers from OMTech.
If I had it to do over again I would order from Pascal Liu at Haotian Laser and save some money.A couple other points - CO2 lasers use an X-Y gantry that has to travel and are slow compared to other types. You can get a galvanometer type CO2 laser that uses mirrors to move the beam and is much faster. UV and Fiber lasers are this type. CO2 lasers use a tube that has a working life and has to be recharged or replaced. They also require some type of cooling mechanism to remove heat - I have a chiller but some folks use a tub full of ice and a pump and watch the temps.MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.

Thank you, kind sir! I see I have volumes of reading to do!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time!

There are also diode lasers I forgot to mention - to my knowledge they are low power and gantry type - slow and not very powerful.MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.
