I found a pork tenderloin in freezer that has been there 3 years.  Is it still good or should I throw it away.

If it hasn't been thru thaw cycles (power outages) it is still good.
But if you are at all concerned it's not worth the worry.

Still cryo packed? Eat on. Think back like Frank said. Thaw, power out? Toss
  • Frozen meat will be good to eat almost indefinitely if kept frozen throughout. The biggest drawback will be potential degradation in texture.

I have cooked stuff that old with zero issues.

    Carry on.

As said above, if frozen the whole time, it’s still safe. May have some flavor and/or texture degradation but perfectly safe.

I am sure I have a tenderloin that old in the bottom of my freezer that I would still eat. If you don’t already do this… I keep a small high tech thaw detector in each freezer. Just take a small plastic container with a lid fill halfway with water and freeze. Once it is solid put a penny on top. If the penny is ever down in the ice you will know you had a thaw event. I travel a lot and am a bit paranoid about my frozen stuff (and yah I know I need to defrost the freezer).
