Thanks @cmac610 ... do you have any pictures or videos (or an estimate of when you could publish on public media what you have)? Does it come apart into components or it is a fixed ring like the current one?

That design appears it would cause a severe leak where the spit passes through !

Thanks @Buckwoody Egger your Google kung fu is clearly better than mine :). That's the one, the BGE logo is clearly visible on the right hand support plate (along with the letter L) and the motor unit has the green colour.

@calracefan it would be interesting to see a video of it in action. The current/outgoing model can leak where the spit goes in. Depending on how thin the support plate is, it might given minimal smoke. We await a definitive video from @cmac610 :)

I do…but still can’t post until the Mothership gives the ok!

No fixed ring…comes apart and packed in to a great hard sided case!

That’s it! And that’s from us cooking on it at the Ace Hardware show in San Antonio a few months ago. Only distributors and dealers saw it and they loved the new design.

Actually, there’s less oxygen leak on the new design than the ring that rarely ever lined up perfectly. Not enough to swing the temps at all.

I’m actually surprised that more pics/vids haven’t leaked. More might come from last weekend at the New England Eggfest.

I'd be interested to see a video with it closed. In the UK we have the LetzQ rotisserie, which is a perfect fit for the Egg so zero oxygen leak other than where the spindle goes through the wedge.

How important is it to have that seal when using the rotisserie? I've known rotisserie's to always be open flame vs smoking. Is there a benefit to smoking on a rotisserie?

I like the LetzQ kit, but they refused to ship to Canada.

Pretty true…I did a whole chicken and a 3 bone prime rib at the event and rarely had the lid closed. Only for a little bit since the middle of the prime rib was still a little frozen! Although cooking open will get you color, but cook the middle much slower.

I guess if it is a problem, triple gasketing would work and make Ron a gabillionaire.

@cmac610 would be interested in a video / pic of it cooking when closed. Also, can these fit with the side table thingies? Or do they clash for physical space?

Pretty sure they’d work just fine with the side tables.

Kinda neat. Rotisseries have that self-basting element (or, baste as you go), some char from high heat, and even cooking which hits different.

I dig that it isn’t a fixed ring deal, which makes for a bulky accessory.

I know that the LG rotisseries are on the way. So it should be soon. HQ just wants to be able to coordinate the launch with content. But getting damn close!!!

Forgot how hard it was to judge doneness. The napoleon basket's holes are much larger than the kamodo Joe shaft.
