Rotisseries

What are everyone's thoughts on Rotisseries and suggested brands . I have been looking the BGE is quite expensive. Only Fire has one but it isn't available in the USA. Appreciate any input !

Same here.  Have a JoeTisserie for the large and use it for Prime Ribs, Turkeys, Picanha, etc..  Have had it at least 7 years and works great.

BGE Canada still has some L available, XL is sold out so stock is dwindling. I bet some dealers near the OP in Missouri might have one.

I wonder if the new one will incorporate a pizza door - a lot of the rotisseries seem to do that.

I use a rotisserie to cook chicken pretty much all the time, it's great. I use the LetzQ one because it's designed specifically for the Big Green Egg. It's also got the motor on the left and the handle on the right, and as I'm right handed it's better for me than than the BGE one. I also use the Kick Ash Basket divider in the base to have charcoal stacked at the back, just my taste but if there is full charcoal there's a lot of smoke from the fat landing on the coals and burning.

I got the Joe model back in 2016 and I see Amazon currently has it on sale for considerably less than I paid back then. Highly recommended.
Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning.

Thanks to everyone that responded, most likely will get a Joetisserie . Found a must less expensive one but they will not sell to the USA and they are based in NC !

YES! No details, but I’m hearing great things about the new BGE rotisserie. The distributors got to see it last week and we’ll get a chance to cook with it at the Ace Hardware show in San Antonio in a few weeks. I’ll update you when I can, but I’m excited to see it!

@cmac610 is that different from the current BGE rotisserie that we can get in the UK?

Yes…BGE hasn’t been able to sell the original here in the States for a while now, so a redesign has been in the works. That being said, I have one of the originals (same as the one you posted)  and really like it, so I’m excited to get me grubby little hands on the new one.

Ok that will be interesting. The original BGE one was basically the same as the LetzQ that I have but with the handle on the left hand side. As I'm right handed, I much preferred the LetzQ model as that had the handle on the right ... maybe that's why BGE had trouble selling their one.

It will be interesting to see whether BGE have addressed this, e.g. having a model whereby the motor can go on either side. It's also hard to imagine what inventive step could be applied to a rotisserie, unless it's been made into a rotisserie / pizza wedge combo. Now that would be interesting.

This is a comparison of the LetzQ and BGE (original) rotisserie.

It works for me but I am redirected to Meat Smoke and Fire's website as they fulfill orders for the UK where I am. I guess the LetzQ website knows I am in the UK so sends me there. Maybe there's an issue with order fulfillment outside of the UK.
