Did our family get together on the weekend. Pretty pedestrian dishes.

Asian wings, smoked low and slow in Traeger for an hour, finished in 400F oven with honey glaze. Everyone loved the smoke profile.

Learned a lesson...found out last minute that the long steamer is not induction compatibility, ended up chopping whole trout filets into pieces to fit round steamer.

Kids favourite... fruit caramel tart from WF.

SWMBO's black sesame filled rice balls in ginger syrup, traditional new year dessert symbolic of family togetherness.

JFC - congrats across the board for that incredible banquet. I would pedestrian my way through all those without guilt and smiling as I loaded up. Magnificent as always!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Really nice feast. Nothing pedestrian about that table at all! I would tuck into all of those dishes. I count about half a dozen or so items for which you have not provided descriptions.Happy New Year!

Thank you all.
For the records my dear wife did most of the cooking, I was just the helper and dish washer. I took it for granted that the regulars here already know that
@lousubcap @johnmitchell @dbCooper We're getting old and slowing down, pedestrian means dishes with fewer ingredients and steps. Every meal we can cook is a blessing.
@lkapigian Thanks for the bombdiggity seal of approval.
@Botch @shtgunal3 We hedged our bet with extra dishes so there's something for everyone, haha.
@keener75 Not a big hockey fan but Holy Mackinaw! sounds familiar. Thought it was Grapes but google says Bowen
@caliking Thanks, you summed it up better than I can. Also thanks for sharing the TOI article, I miss Kolkata.
@Buckwoody Egger This place is like family, I learn/get more than what I can share occasionally.
@GrateEggspectations Other dishes are boring or posted before. Anyway, here they are...
Shrimp tofu egg drop soup, made with juice from previously steamed dry brined chicken...
IP ribs with sundried salty mustard green (made by my late mother), in homemade sushi rice...
Each vegetable got nuked separately till al dente, before partying in the wok...
IP braised ribs with shitake mushroom and rehydrated bean curd sticks that suck up homemade sushi rice like sponge.
Dark soy sauce molasses noodles.
S&P fried shrimp.
Steamed Lap Yuk (Chinese pork belly) cured in my DIY Biltong box.

You could have phrased that much better. ^^^^Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
