12 Dishes You Know if You Grew Up in the Heartland

Although I grew up in the "Heartland", three of these are unknown to me: Snicker Salad, St. Paul Sandwich, The Lunchbox. The others are legit good, especially Chili w/Cinnamon Roll and Cheese Frenchee. Curious thing about the Frenchee, you get three triangles in your order, what happens to the fourth one is a mystery.

I grew up in SD and have only heard of two of them, and not chislic until a hunter friend of mine gave me some venison chislic here in UT."Hallelujah, Noel, be it Heaven or Hell,
The Christmas we get, we deserve"

Odd that I'm totally unfamiliar with the St. Paul Sandwich, but can most assuredly vouch for virtues of the Snicker Salad.Stillwater, MN

With food like that, no wonder it’s flyover country.

Some are nostalgic favorites for me: cup and a roll, Runza, taco pizza, and snickers salad. Most were served at high school sporting events in northeastern Colorado where I grew up.

The chili and roll certainly sounded interesting, in the sense that I wouldn’t normally expect those two things to go together, so I’d probably try it.dbCooper said:JohnInCarolina said:

12 dishes you know if you grew up in the Heartland brought to you by a company who is based out of New York. Makes sense.
This is like me explaining Texas BBQ to people who grew up in Texas because I drove through Texas once."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

You can just say barbecue, Texas is assumed.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Growing up... Snickers salad was like hiring the jackpot. It was a side dish to accompany the main course! It's like dessert was served with my meal and dessert was still coming!JohnInCarolina said:
