Moo, Oink, Bleat-Loaf

Freezer dove for this. Homemade bratwursts (un-tubed), venison and hamburger meat. Eggs, breadcrumbs, parmesan and herbs bread dip seasoning (the kind you put with olive oil). Smoked it with JD oak barrel chips.  Glazed it with ketchup, Worcestershire and honey.

Helene took us for a ride, but fortunately all we got was a busted up privacy fence, and no power/water for the next few days still. Making do though with a medium sized generator for the essentials, charcoal, fans, and water jugs to flush the toilet!  We were fortunate— hope everyone here is safe.

Writing about the positive side of a very tough situation.  Way to go.  I need to get a dose of your attitude.
That is a masterpiece of creativity with a gourmet finish.
May you get the juice/water restored in advance of any utility predictions.
Stay healthy and safe out there-

I remember all of the stuff that I carried from my home freezer to the fridge at work after Katrina. Fish, leg of lamb etc along with my medium Egg. People ate good at work when we weren’t working 16 hours a day.

Yes.  Way to make the best of a bad situation.  That's a great cook in any circumstances.

Great cook and great attitude given the situation. Stay safe.

When it's over I'd love to learn more about how you juggle with a medium sized generator if you can share. I have a medium sized generator on standby, my worst nightmare will be keeping multiple fridges and freezers going in the event of a prolonged outage. Touch wood we never had one for decades.

Glad your power outage should be over before long.

Thanks for sharing, I have the same plan/configuration on standby, the heavy duty cord runs through a piece of pool noodle wedged between a basement slider and its frame. I've also spliced a pigtail plug into the gas furnace 110V power supply so it can tap into the generator. My previous small generator died due to lack of use, have since fixed and sold it, I now have a still BNIB iPower 4300 dual fuel from Costco. I'm taking a chance that it will start when I need it, don't want to get oil/gas in it and not have to use it for another ten years :)
