I was on the old forum. I hated it's architecture / layout / whatever.  Vanilla is so much better. Smh.

I started on the original forum in 2010 after lurking for a couple years and learning how to Egg.  Stayed away from here 'cause was raised with " you're known by the company you keep".

After retirement and reputation no longer a big concern I became more active here.  Plus, as @kl8ton mentioned, Vanilla and the implementation here is so cutting edge.

Many years ago you got me hooked on sugar maple wood from a seller in Maine. Was it Maine Grilling Wood?
They seem out of business now. Do you have another supplier?
    thanks
    Mickey

havent bought smoking wood in years, just what i can find around the house. predator pee in maine used to carry it but dont see it online anymore. maine grilling woods facebook hasnt updated since 2016.  this place carries it but damn those prices seem high, seems to look fresh though

    Thanks so much once again.

I bought my first large BGE back in 1996, when I was 10. Does that make me an old timer? I found the original forum in 2008 or so.
@Florida Grillin Girl Did the dealer require a parent/guardian signature to allow the sale? 🙂

It’s probably for the best that you didn’t find the OG forum until you were old enough to buy booze.

Hey Mickey . . . remember meeting me here?

WOW - was that an embroidered patch or a printed coaster? Either way that is a BGE collectable. I know a fellow egger (NOT ME) who might give his left testicle for that!

Caught the end of the other site in 2012.  Bought my first Egg, an XL that summer.  Met a lot of folks from the site at the Eggfest.  Remember some amazing cooks on the old site.  Mostly from Biker and a gentleman that would visit often from Mexico.  Both had jaw dropping amazing cooks.
