EGGtoberfest 2024!

I can’t believe we’re just a few short weeks from what should be the biggest and best EGGtoberfest yet and there’s no thread?!?

Lots of fun events this year to celebrate the 50th year of BGE!

How about an attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the largest serving of chicken wings ever. Friday night pre-party, Demos, Kid’s activities…and of course great food from dozens of cook teams!

Who’s joining us for the fun??

Wow, that's kind of cool.  What's the current record?

It’ll take a lot of eggs to cook over 55,000 wings.
  • Bump!   There’s a record for # sold in 24 hours, # sold in 8 hours, and largest # of people in a wing eating competition. Surely there’s an angle to take for a unique record.

    the 50th!  gotta make it

It’s interesting to see that there was no corporate announcement on the forum with follow-ups regarding the 50th Anniversary Eggfest that is being held tomorrow.

They really don’t care about this forum.
  • well the OP in my opinion would count as a rep of BGE HQ — so apparently the attempt just didn’t get any traction with the posters here. we are headed there soon. hope lots of people are too and hope tix available for anyone on the fence.

Alas, the website says tickets are now sold out. Surprised that it was so late, compared to past years, but it's good that they have done well.
Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning.

When it was at stone mountain the tickets sold out. I doubt there is a maximum at the new venue. Yay corporate
  • it was a first class event. very well staffed, tons of volunteers.  tons of space and good flow.  there was shade up top and shaded seating at picnic tables on one stretch up top and in some of the ballpark seats.  the infield/outfield was pretty sunny.  temp was mid 80s and warm for October. kudos to BGE

Found this pic on social media.  It looks like this was maybe the Guinness attempt.

It seems they set the record.  I guess it was for the largest single serving of wings or something.

I hope at least some of those wings got eaten.  Looks like there’s even a @Mickey wing in the mix.

I don’t think that’s the deal. BGE HQ has gone through a lot of personnel changes over the past 6 months and they’re still working on getting things dialed in. I know Hannah has been jumping in here and there and I’m sure will be monitoring the forum regularly.

Thanks Buckwoody…but I’m a part of BGE’s Team Green. I.e. Ambassador, “Influencer” (I hate that word!). So not employed by BGE…just fortunate enough to be able to cook in a bunch of events for them. Hope you had a great time!
