Most House democrats vote against SAVE Act… what a surprise

So, Biden opens the boarder wide open and then they vote against proving citizenship to vote in America. How can anyone defend this?

Weren’t you telling us a depression was right around the corner, based on what you were seeing in the paper industry?

    What happened to that prediction?

He was just basing it off of his personal experience. He is constipated and thus needs little paper. As to my political views, I have made them reasonably clear on this forum. I see no point in continually arguing about it though.

Has anyone seen an explanation as to why Republicans felt the need to try and pass a bill that essentially says non-citizens can’t vote when… that law already exists?

My understanding is that the bill required proof of citizenship to register to vote in all states. Not something that is required everywhere currently. There are currently several million non legal migrants in the US who may or may not know that they can’t legally vote. Requiring proof to register helps them to avoid committing a criminal act .

Somehow I don’t think Republicans tried to pass a bill in order to do migrants a solid.

But, putting that aside, it seems to me that most places where you can register require you to have the forms of ID that you can only possess if you are in fact a citizen.

I don’t think we have any evidence that migrants have actually been illegally trying to register to vote in the sort of numbers that would require federal legislation to guard against it.

I’m not a multiple mind reader and I am sure that there are other provisions in the bill. I just don’t see any harm in the one part that I have seen. We shall see.

Recently read this overview article focused on five things about the SAVE Act.  It gives some good insights about the bill . . .

As I suspected, the main objective is to make it more difficult for particular kinds of citizens to register to vote.

i find it odd that here in ma you need the id's to register, you just need to know your name to vote, and miss just one town survey that comes out and your name is removed from the list.  i missed a one survey question once for how many dogs do i own.....poof, off the voting list.......watched a nun trying to get an id card, she had no proof who she was, not even a utility bill

I said recession but it may get worse and end up a depression. Who knows? You retards can't look past what the democrats tell you. They tell you its all roses and rainbows and you believe it. People are borrowing from their 401Ks at record pace. They are piling up record amounts of credit card debt. The signs are everywhere but you don't want to look. As we speak the markets are tanking. Bitcoin is in a free fall. Buffet is dumping huge amounts of stock and holding cash. Something is about to hit the fan. Maybe they are also worried about a bigger war in the Middle East. They  have tried to tell all of us that its all great and we will have a soft landing. Just watch your investments in the coming days and weeks.

Yep, the amount of energy this stuff has been consuming is definitely problematic.

I understand your concern about the recent developments in US politics. It's indeed puzzling to see the border being opened wide, and then voting against proof of citizenship to vote in America. It seems counterintuitive.
