I find this to be the best starting point. It lists the most topics (without the first message preview) and has the navigation to other pages arrows at the bottom. 

In my opinion it should be the default landing spot when a user types in eggheadforum.com

Otherwise— a user can get here manually by clicking forums…egghead forum and bookmark

    Agree as when I login I immediately select "Forums" on the main page to get past the limited default opening selection. 
    Sorted that out on day one of this new site-even as a luddite. B)

    Well Cap you are not a luddite by any measure and let’s hope the casual passerby invests the same investigative effort.  

    There are some forums that require login to see all the good stuff (for sale, pics, etc).  The latest edition here doesn’t have that hurdle but maybe a few more opportunities displayed where someone may want to log in and respond could be good.
