One fell off on to the grate, so learning point for next time is to add an arrester devise to the bottom of the skewer.
Lots of coarse salt and little SPG.
The one in the image stayed not he skewer and the texture was remarkably different.
First attempt at salmon on a plank scheduled for tomorrow as it is SWMBO's birthday.
Great cook and love the skewers, did you buy it or hack it out of a regular V shaped one? I'm thinking of splitting the end with an angle grinder cutting wheel and bending to form the T handle. I may try one for tandoori.
Also agree with using potato (or onion) at the bottom, a stainless steel cotter pin should work well as an arrestor.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

That is my problem with the waycrnd thread, every time I open it I find something I want to make, so I’m like 135 pages behind.South of Columbus, Ohio.
-
Well I do think it would be best if that thread didn't exist and each cook was a new thread. But.... On Mobile I only see about 10 posts on the landing page......
The landing Page needs to be switched to allow endless scrolling like every other dang platform out there.Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

I'm too old and slow to deal much with the mobile option, but if you can change the opening page to MainEgghead Forum you will get a full page of topics. You are quite likely aware but I'm not one to assume...

Thanks @Ozzie_Isaac - a whole thread of my own!

It's a UK site, bt after bit of digging this is the supplier

@CPFC1905 That's clever turning the skewers upside down. As you can see ^^^ the price for PBC skewers here is ridiculous. I'm thinking of a DIY prototype for tandoori.canuckland

I’m not sure Gary understands British units. Can you translate them into the metric system first?CPFC1905 said:

Chain is easy enough as it's the length of a cricket pitch.Other girls may try to take me away

Please, thanks. PBC website shows 15" and 20", but I see only 10" and 15" in Amz. Please include handle size.CPFC1905 said:

For the tandoori experiment I'm thinking of making it extra long to dig into the lump bed, thereby cooking the chicken pieces from the inside as well. Multiple holes can be drilled for arrestor at different distances. Taking IT will be tricky though, also won't be suitable for steaks.

Someone knows their history, yes a 'foot' was the length of the King's foot and an inch was the length of the thumb joint to tip, so the bit with your nail on.Canugghead said:

After trying to write the measurements I decided to just take pictures. And just for added spice, varied between inches and centimetres.Canugghead said:

The groove / cleft is about 3 mm deep and I suspect is there to add rigidity. the horizontal section appears to be a cut and twist arrangement.
The tandoori demo I saw included vegetable segments between the meat as stoppers.
Looking forward to your show & tell, soon.

Thanks for taking the trouble to measure for me, much appreciated. As I suspected, it appears PBC just bought generic v-groove stock, then cut 2.5" in the 'valley' and twisted to form the handle, and drilled the hole for hanging.canuckland
