This guy claims he’s getting divorced and doesn’t want the wife keeping his egg so he wants someone to pick it up. Egg seems to be in fair to poor shape but for free probably worth fixing up. No affiliation - found it on CL.

That story sounds super shady. Plus with him saying calls and texts only usually ends up being a prank on someone or a start of a scam. Odd way to give a free BGE away if true.

Doesn't the fact that it is listed on CL mean it is super shady?  Is CL still a way for private parties to transact?

I haven't done a CL transaction in probably 15yrs but every time I did I had a handheld 'friend' with me.    The stories I hear nowadays wouldn't even get me close to CL.

Craiglist is pretty dumpy nowadays. You still can find a good deal once in awhile on Craigslist. I don't have Facebook myself but I use a spare Facebook account my wife has for Marketplace. The people without Facebook/Marketplace will post to Craigslist yet.

I have searches set to try and find a BGE chiminea. Get lots of random hits.

It’s interesting how many people try to sell eggs at near full price. Who would buy it without a deep discount?

To allay any future warranty questions, he wrote “happy birthday Damien!” on the receipt.  —-

That is cool as hell.   :)

I was thinking he must be in some job that requires in person interaction with people if he has to wear these flashy ties, so how does he 'work from home'?
