Vacuum sealers

I just purchased a new food saver vacuum sealer and it's vacuum is much decreased from the old one I bought 12 yrs ago.  It vacuums but does not seem to get all the air our one the older model.     Have any of experienced this.  Does this make a big difference??

Something is amiss , they should be the same , what model? Pictures of what you are vacuuming? , I have a couple food savers and a chamber sealer and they are all very close

maybe a wet/dry setting or it’s just a bum unit

Make sure the gasket is good. I've had a food saver for years, works amazingly, never let me down. My buddy had the same unit, frequently had to replace the gasket ... it simply didn't pull a good vacuum once his seal went (which was way too frequent in my opinion). Not sure why ... his experience is dramatically different to mine, but it always came down to the gasket. Perhaps in the operation? One thing I know is that you have to stow them as per the instructions ... on my food saver, there's an open, close and stow position for the lid.

IT is a model 2100.    my older one was a Gamesaver Deluxe.     This one vacuums but the old one would pull bags tightly around the food and this one seems to leave a little loose in places.   Does this make a real difference?

Yes, you will get freezer burn where the air pockets are. I would take it back and swap it out.
