Caribbean food recs

Visited the Caribbean for the first time this past summer and fell in love with the food. I found a great jerk recipe here that I have made a couple of times but looking to go further down the rabbit hole. Anyone have recommendations for other Caribbean recipes like curry or have recommendations for a great Caribbean cookbook?

Nothing regarding recipes but Walkerswood Jerk Seasoning is great.  The hot does bring the heat and with great flavour (nod).
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

That is an acknowledgement to those forum members aligned with the Commonwealth who favour (nod) the "u" .  I use it whenever a word I am familiar with presents the opportunity. Always with the "nod" acknowledgment. A friendly gesture as I see it.  FWIW-
Edit: I will readily convert *C to *F in a post if necessary-miles and km's are also in the mix.

Where in the Caribbean did you go? There's quite a bit to cook and enjoy, depending on what you liked during your visit. Trini grub is not to be missed IMO.

I went to Turks & Caicos.
  • We used to have a cookbook called “ Chickcharney” , from when we lived on Andros Island. I don’t know what ever happened to it, but there were a lot of great recipes for conch and land crab, along with different fish recipes.
Back then we used a hot sauce called Matouk’s. Can still find it here in Florida.

My oldest son’s in-laws immigrated to Canada from Trinidad (talk about extreme differences in weather) and I can confirm this statement. I always look forward to our visits to the GWN to see our grandkids, but also because I know I’ll be treated to a couple amazing meals.

You might look for a roti recipe called Buss-Up Shut (yes, that is actually the name), and serve it with curry Chana and beef curry. You will not be disappointed.
