Long weekend brisket

I had an on sale brisket in the freezer for approximately two years. I had very low expectations so I didn’t bother taking any photos. I took it out of the wrap and it actually looked pretty good  .  After trimming and seasoning I put it on the barbecue at 11 Friday night and removed it at 2 PM Saturday  . I was surprised by how good it looked so I wrapped it in foil and put it in the oven at 170 until about 630. It turned out to be one of the best briskets I’ve ever had! I only have a couple of photos after giving half to my son

Way to trust your instincts.  Great outcome right there.

Those are the best kind of wins!
Also makes me feel stupid for overthinking most cooks.

Brisket is the best and looks like you nailed it. I miss my egg, it's in storage for a year while I figure out whether I want to buy around here or somewhere else. Winter is getting harder and harder for me to manage with my bones, but my daughter lives up here and wants to have a family so I'll stick it out. Still I can't wait until I can run the egg again

Awesome bark on that.  I’m assuming it was on the BGE straight for the 13 hrs, no wrap?

Yes, on the egg no wrap until the oven. I had drip trays under it and no lookin
turned out perfect, I do overthink these things sometimes.
