I'm very respectful of big storms as I have seen the damage they can do, but unless it intensifies a lot it will just be a welcome large amount of rain.
A while back (10 years?) when a hurricane hit the lower Rio Grande Valley it basically just evaporated within about 50 miles of the gulf. San Antonio and Laredo didn't even get a drop.XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

Well don't try to drive around in high water like some of those people in South California did. Usually water is the problem it seems rather than wind.

Yep. Looks like it is going to straddle the border for a while. They need some rain there. I was in Laredo on Saturday. Looks like it won't really affect San Antonio. Regardless I'm flying to Sioux Fall, SD today, Houston tomorrow, and San Francisco on Thursday so I won't be around for it. Obviously, I hope there is no loss of life or property associated with this. We'll see. Hopefully, as you say, people do safe things where it hits.
