Every once in a while, a weird thing happens while I'm grocery shopping. Yesterday, it was ginger being on our list and me realizing it has been a long time since I made this awesome seared tuna. The grocery store completely dropped the ball, having brought me all the ingredients for the dish, but no TUNA! I had a quick search and by luck found a local purveyor that would deliver it next day.
Three huge tuna steaks showed up, each weighing in at over a pound. I ate one, my 7yo and wife split the other, and we've got some left over.
Super easy recipe and super fun cook.

Wow, that looks great. Is there a marinate or is the ginger, etc just mixed with the avocado? I might do this in the next couple of daysIn the bush just East of Cambridge,Ontario

It’s not a marinade, just a vinaigrette that’s goes on as it sears and after.Plymouth, MN

Great cook right there. Thanks also for the push for searing tuna.
