Shrimpburgers are so gooooood...
We haven't had the shrimpburgers at home in quite a while but that changed tonight...used about 1.25# of shrimp to create 9 "patties" using Dizzy Pig Shaking the Tree in the mixture along with Panko breadcrumbs & cilantro...
Grilled them direct on a raised grid at 425 dome temp...added some DP Pineapple Head just before putting them onto the Egg...ready to come off after a few minutes per side...
Onto Hawaiian Sweet Rolls along with some Wasabi Mayo...added a baked sweet potato for a side...my plate...
May need to do this a little more often as it was DELICIOUS!
Have a GREAT day!

Jay…man you keep tempting me with those! My excuse (weak I know) is your shrimp are fresh from down there but mine will have been dead for 6 months much less frozen all that time and shipped from the other side of the world!BUT one of these days…one of these days…

Morning @RRP
I have used frozen shrimp in the past (but not very often)...I won't say they work as well as fresh, but the shrimpburgers are still good!
Have a GREAT day!

+1 for the recipe please. I'm always looking for more things to do with shrimp.

Morning @caliking and @buzd504
Recipe below...let me know if you have any questions.Shrimpburgers
(Jay & Kathy Taylor
SSN686 & EggHatter)
Ingredients:
1 pound raw Shrimp (cleaned, shelled & deveined)
1 Egg
1/8 cup finely chopped Cilantro
1/2 cup Panko Crumbs
Freshly ground Black Pepper (DP Shaking the Tree)
DP Pineapple Head
Wasabi Mayonnaise (recipe follows)
Directions:
In a food processor, process half the shrimp with the egg. Coarsely chop (approximately 0.5” pieces) the remaining shrimp and put it into a bowl. Add the processed shrimp and the cilantro, panko crumbs, salt and pepper (I usually use DP Shaking the Tree about 0.5 tsp per pound). Divide the mixture into 4 portions and form them into patties if you want hamburger bun sized shrimpburgers (a square cookie cutter works well for forming the shrimp burgers the size of the Hawaiian rolls. Put the cookie cutter on freezer or waxed paper and fill with the shrimp mixture, then gently pull off the cookie cutter). After the burgers are formed, put them in the refrigerator for at least an hour to help them firm up.
Stabilize egg at 350° with a raised grid. Sprinkle on DP Pineapple Head then place the burgers on a perforated pan such as a pizza pan with holes or the cooking grid. Place pan on the raised grid and grill until cooked through, turning once, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
Remove the burgers to a sweet Hawaiian roll that has been spread with the wasabi mayonnaise. Add more wasabi mayonnaise on top of the shrimp burger. Enjoy!
Wasabi Mayonnaise:
1 cup Mayonnaise
1/4 cup prepared Wasabi (available in the Asian section of your supermarket)
1 tsp. freshly grated Ginger
2 Tbls. Soy Sauce
1 tsp. Sugar
Pinch Salt
Mix all the ingredients together. Taste and adjust the seasoning. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
To make more than four ¼ pound size, just increase the ingredients proportionately (no need to make more mayo, there is plenty for at least 5 pounds of shrimp). If you make the shrimpburgers about the size of the small Hawaiian rolls you should get 7 or 8 per pound of shrimp.
Have a GREAT day!

Yum, Jay. Those look sooo good! As I always tell you, the shrimpburgers you serve at eggfests always taste the best! You and Kathy have the special touch when it comes to shrimpburgers!Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Nice recipe.
Most US frozen shrimp is flash frozen right on the boat. Take it out of the freezer, put it in the fridge overnight, drain and use.

Jay,
That looks fantastic, going to put that one in the recipe files. Do you get your shrimp at a local market or head to the docks? I’ll hit Versaggi’s 5-6 times a year and pick up a 5lbs box each trip. Thanks
