Mine did on my large maybe a couple times. I ran it until it twisted up badly. I use a kick ash basket now.

Mine never cracked but it warped. I bought a Kick Ash Basket and Kick Ash Can. it makes it much easier to handle the ash.

How often have you been forced to replace yours?

Charcoal grate on my first L warped after a couple of years, cracked and ultimately split.  It worked fine until it split a couple more times and I could no longer humpty-dumpty it back together after roughly 13 years.

This is off my large. I went back with  stainless steel. I haven't fired it up yet so I can't give a report about it. Looks good.

As a HAPPILY SATISFIED user of Kick Ash Baskets I will never go back to OE grates for any of my eggs! They really are not expensive, last a long time and SO worth the money IMO.

Mine exploded on the first cook above 225°F. Blew up in two larger pieces, imbedded two smaller pieces in the dome.

I was sitting outside with the dome closed on my XL, the explosion lifted the dome about 12-13 cm, before falling back down. My dealer replaced both. Then my second one split. It was replaced as well.

Mine split at around the 5 year mark.  I'm going to get a kick ash bucket soon.

Oh damn! I've never had that happen. I use a kick ash basket on top of my grate for 4 years. Straight up grate for 6nyears before. No issues.

I had one crack a few years ago. It is part of the warranty so I was able to pick a replacement up at Ace Hardware.
