    He sure was.

    His institute was apparently a haven for Jewish scientists. He hid the Nobel Prize gold medals of two Jewish awardees in his lab. Dissolved in acid. The Nazis never found them. The gold was later precipitated out of the solution, and the Nobel Institute recast the medals. 
    I’ve never heard that story about Bohr - very cool thing for him and the Nobel Institute to do.
