    That is awesome!

I got to play with a T for several years, so some of those tools looked familiar.

Once again you never know what handmade items become absolutely priceless many years later! I am the end of the conveyor belt of our family and I have items my late Father made and saved.
Would absolutely LOVE to see some of your favorites. Share those memories, my friend!!
Since you asked...After my Father who had been a blacksmith most of his life retired he took up carving. He carved many small pieces but the one thing he carved that is especially near and dear to my heart is this 10" tall moose. When our home was being built in 1979 our fireplace mantel was a large piece of rough sawn cedar. There was a sawn off block laying on the floor. Knowing dad was always looking for chunks of wood to use I offered it to him. Two years later he gave me this moose! And what makes all of his carvings even more amazing is he had huge rough hands and on this right hand he had lost the first joints on three fingers in an accident with a jointer.

    My Moose:

That is incredibly special. Thank you .

Me thinks you are just pulling our leg, but if not…then yes to tool collectors they are. With your high humidity down in NO then surface rust is a problem, but a problem which to an experienced tool collector is easy enough to overcome. Granted if the metal in the tool is pitted then that really slices the value!

@RRP  I’m not pulling your leg.  I have boxes of them.  Need to clean up and if I can sell stuff I’ll never use because it’s collectible, great.

Oh hell yes! Pictures showing any brand names, logos and in particular CONDITION will do wonders. There are many antique hand tool collector forums out there seeking such tools in various forms of condition…you know…”the good, the bad, the ugly”
  • @RRP. As a moose I 100% approve. Great story and beautiful carving.
