Finally Ordered From SRF! and a Discount Tip

I received a gift certificate last June and waited until cooler weather down here in TX to order. Good thing I did as it was delivered at 11:00 PM at night after I had gone to bed, luckily it was in the 30s.
I use the Microsoft Edge browser to order, and when I clicked on the coupon field, several options showed up. The IMMORTAL 20% worked! I just tried this today, and it showed up again...
SRF Black 16.9 lb brisket:

Any suggestions on how long it will take to defrost in the fridge from the freezer?

Nice! I usually give it two full days to defrost in the fridge.smbishop said:I received a gift certificate last June and waited until cooler weather down here in TX to order. Good thing I did as it was delivered at 11:00 PM at night after I had gone to bed, luckily it was in the 30s.

I would suggest 5 days in the fridge ( @JohnInCarolina must have a hot fridge.) Besides, wet aging it won't hurt.
Nice score.

If it’s not totally defrosted after two full days you can just take it out and put it on the counter ahead of the cook and that’ll do it.lousubcap said:I would suggest 5 days in the fridge ( @JohnInCarolina must have a hot fridge.) Besides, wet aging it won't hurt.

BTW Thanks for the above discount heads up. Just used it on a black grade brisket.
I tried to use it on a Gold grade but the only shipping option available for the Gold was 2 day air with the upcharge. Spoke with SRF and found out that the Gold I was trying to get is currently only warehoused in CA so the air was necessary to get it delivered. Thus back to an oversized black grade-I am good with that and free shipping as well.

Or just season it and toss it on still partially frozen. Brisket don’t care.lolJohnInCarolina said:
