Grilled Liver

Wanna make some grilled liver to try on my egg…. Whats some of your best methods for those that grilled or like liver.  High heat direct?  What to put on it?  My mom used to soak hers in milk when she made on the stove but im not so sure that would work on grill or would it???

Wrap it in bacon.  Indirect 325°F dome.  Cook to 155°F IT.  You can soak the liver and / or dredge in flour with this method.

Or, use bacon grease in a cast iron skillet, soak in milk and dredge in flour.

I have not had any luck just grilling the liver direct.  Dries out.  But, I don't cook it a lot.

    I like mine with onions.

    • Grill liver to IT 155-160
    • Simultaneously sauté some onions in a small cast iron pan
    • Next, discard the liver and add the onions to the steak you grilled adjacent to the liver.
    • Enjoy your steak and onions. 😁

make it into liverwurst, grill it in a cast iron pan,top with a sharp cheddar and a runny sunnyside up fried egg.  i remember as a kid walking home for dinner, smelling liver 3 houses away from home and turning away. better to get sent to my room for punishment than to sit at the dinner table for 4 hours refusing to eat it
