Wings Are A Food Group Just Like Bacon

Wings tonight brined, dried, oiled and rubbed.  Garlic jalapeño and simply citrus rubs for the win.  Grilled raised direct at 400.  WoW!!

According to the news yesterday morning, wings are now at their lowest cost since 2020.  So, since you've tempted me...

  • @Botch Yep I had to save up for awhile. LOL actually they dropped down to $2.59 lb.  First ones I have bought in about 2 years.

They did get more expensive, but they weren’t expensive when you consider the SRF purchases that get posted regularly.  I didn’t cut back on them.  I like wings.

BTW- SRF brisket prices and weight per lb for the price have not changed in at least 3-4 years.  Da-n the chix, full speed ahead.   B)

Yep, saw a nice price on a 'family' pack. Should be just enough for a single meal for myself this weekend??

I wonder how much actual meat (and skin, I guess) is in a lb of wings.

    I'm guessing 50%  meat/skin, 50% bone/cartilage.

Just bought a family pack of whole wings at Aldi for $3.08 per pound.  I liked the per pound price.

Once I got home, I realized my error.  There were 14 wings in the pack and I know I lost some by trimming the tips, but $.50 per section now makes me think that wasn't such a great deal.  But, it will be good eating!

  • @Langner91 Add the brine step to the front of your wing process.  You will be handsomely rewarded.

Rouse's?  Wife just sent me a pic.  Limit 2 (about 3lbs/pack).  If they don't let her go over the limit, I'm going back.
