GIOIA'S DELI-STL

Anyone have any experience reheating a frozen salami log on the egg rather than a crockpot? If so, what did you do?

Also, what’s your go-to toppings on a salami sandwich?

Comments

  • The Egg can act just like an oven. So for reheating, I recommend low temps. Put the frozen protein on there until thawed.

Just don’t ask if the Egg will boil water - unless it’s a Friday.

For sandwich toppings think lettuce, red onion, oil and vinegar, maybe even banana peppers

Ha!  I was at Gioia's in CC last week with my kids and was wondering the same thing.  Let me know if you figure it out.

never thought to heat it up but this looks too good. no bread needed

for a sandwich im good with miracle whip and an onion roll, only sandwhich that gets miracle whip.

if im in the right deli i go with the full italian adding mortedella, good proscuitto, provolone, tomato, basil, pickled banana peppers, a shake of italian dressing

I wonder if that would work with a summer sausage...

That hasselback salami circulated here several years ago.  I tried it, it’s pretty good, you get crispy edges like cupped pepperoni on a pizza.  Fun cook, but I don’t think I cooked it more than once or twice if that tells you anything.
    Love you bro!

My family are all die-hard football junkies.  We eat crappy food on gameday in the fall.  This hasn't been tried at any get-together that I remember, so it might be a fun item to take to a couple of games this year.  I am thinking about Jalapeno and Cheddar summer sausage with a bourbon honey glaze.

What's the worst that could happen?
