English Muffins - Ur Doing It Rong

I'm 62.  I buy Engrish Muffins on occasion, and have tried both cutting, and forking, them into submission; neither worked satisfactorily.
Go to the 0:60 second mark, here.  I had two muffins in the kitchen, tried it, and now understand.  Most of the rest of the video is not worth your time.

Did you eat the muffins afterward, Botch?

I re-mated them, wrapped with masking tape, and resealed in the bag.  Eggs Benedict tomorrow morning.

I have been doing that for years—out of sheer laziness.  Sometimes, though, I’ve ended up kinda of ruining the muffin when a section in the middle tears and leaves a hole in one side and a boulder in the other.

I think it also depends on the muffin brand.  I am big advocate of generics, but for English Muffins, I stick with Thomas's.  They seem to come apart the easiest.  We usually get the 18-pack at Costco.

hmmm! I only use 2 at a time and freeze the rest. I will DEFINITLY try this hint!

Another hint: first freeze them overnight and then Food Saver them. The other way around the FS will flatten them like tiny pancakes!

That's awesome!  I much prefer Bay's refrigerated English Muffins but my local store no longer carries them
