OT: got stung badly today: ACCENT to the rescue! :OT

Maybe this is common knowledge - but if not...please read on!

Today while mowing I rattled 2 nests of yellow jackets (tiny, SUPER NASTY ground living wasps).

I got nailed 7 times before I even knew I hit a nest.

Thankfully I still had a can of wasp spray and most of those "aerial" killers bit the dust!

OTOH I went right in and discovered I had no ACCENT Meat Tenderizer to make a paste to solve my swelling wasp stings...called my neighbor and she had a brand new container! I "borrowed" it and then later today I bought her a new one!

I've been REALLY nailed by fire ants, jelly fish and these yellow jackets and every time the ACCENT meat tenderizer has saved me!

If you remain still the yellow jackets will attack whatever is moving. At least down here.

Actually I knew/noticed something like that from what was the smallest nest, but the real swarm that nailed me came from the second one and they hit me before I knew it!

I think what he actually told you was to NOT suck on the wound AFTER you pee on it.

Those are flies, but I have to ask…being clear out there in AZ how could you have heard what I was calling yellow jacket wasps as I was getting nailed?

but worst then all that…did your years with CAT turn you into a bug fornicator photographer?

I used to go after the mud dabbers with a tennis racket.  Wasps and yellow jackets were to nimble to hit consistent.

CAT taught me to focus on the details and see what is around you.  A side effect of that is noticing amorous bugs.  Remember, a fornicating bug cannot sting or bite you.

Years ago I bought one of those $2 "bug zapper" tennis racquets from Harbor Freight.  It "zapped" my fingertip (ouch!) so I figured it could kill a fly.
I've always realized I'm not the most coordinated guy, but dammit; I couldn't hit a fly in flight to save my soul.  For weeks.
Finally, one landed on my curtains, on an exposed "hump".  Whap-Zap!  I got him!  I also almost burned my house down.
Thank goodness flies are rare here.

I have found the "scoop" method works best.  I put the electric racket perpendicular to the surface the fly is on then run it along it and "scoop" the fly.  Works every time.

Also, the image of the fly dead, but curtains scorched is hilarious.

    It wasn't, at the time.

So TRUE!   Nearly 50 years ago I had a real horse’s ass boss who knocked up a young married teller and thankfully he got fired AND “someone” beat the living SH*T out of him as well!

BTW - NO, that young teller was NOT my wife!  And that former boss who got the sh*t beaten out of him had enough sense to never report his beating to the police! He just told people he “tripped” in his garage falling face first breaking his nose and both cheek bones!
