Rub Comparison: Holy Gospel vs The BBQ rub?

Hey everyone,
Meat Church Holy Gospel, vs Killer Hogs The BBQ Rub: For those who are familiar with both, can you please give me a comparison on these two rubs? Do they have a similar flavor profile? How about how they contribute toe the bark?

Listed ingredients:

The BBQ Rub - Brown sugar, sugar, paprika, salt, spices, dehydrated garlic, oleoresin paprika, dehydrated orange peel, natural flavor & less than 2% tricalcuim phosphate to prevent caking

Holy Gospel - Sugar, salt, spices including paprika, dextrose, dehydrated garlic, celery, silicone dioxide & spice extractives. Gluten free. No MSG.

On first look, they're similar. I see Kiiler hog includes orange peel & two types of paprika. Also may have more sugar. Meat church skips the orange and uses celery. The things that get me is when they list things like "natural flavors" and "spices" because it seems they could be almost anything.

Look forward to reading your comparisons.

Out of line post here since I have not tried them, but the 4 main ingredients are basically the same with Holy Gospel a little heavier on the salt ( but not by much) ....Any rub can contribute to bark, but that's only 1 ingredient , you need smoke, water vapor and low temps

Yes on the Natural Flavors LoL...not a fan of commercial rubs but if I did I would support the forum , @Nature Boy DizzyPig

too many of the ewetubers are making there $$ by just slapping their name on a rub made by someone else to suck you in to thinking you will be an award winning pitmaster by using it, you already have the ingredients in your pantry, experiment with what you like......don't discount the power of MSG, LoL , No MSG is a marketing scam

Have used Killer Hogs The BBQ rub for past 5 years, after trying many other commercial runs.  I did use 2# of Butcher BBQ Honey Rub last year, but we still prefer Malcom’s BBQ rub.   I buy it in 5# bags, and fill my shakers.

So are suggesting I should add MSG?
I’m open to that. What does it add? Umami? Is that what “Accent” is?
When should I apply it and how much?
    Thanks!

1/2 TSP will do a pound of meat....when I mix my basic rub 1 cup 16 mesh pepper , slightly under 1/4 cup kosher salt slightly under 1/4 cup seasoned salt 1/2 cup Granulated Garlic I add 2 tbsp MSG ( Accent ) to it, MSG is Umami , you'll notice it in a positive , but can't describe way

Please Note: decrease the amount of salt you use when adding MSG as it contains sodium

For MSG, the amount of sodium is 12.28 g/100 g, and this is 1/3 of the sodium when compared to NaCl (39.34 g/100 g)

If you really want to up your game try Oakridge BBQ seasonings. Not made with a bunch of sugar and salt, which I prefer. You can always add some if you need it. JMHO
