Increase cooking capacity on BGE XL

hi folks, I'm new to the group and looking for some advise.  I have an older XL BGE, approximately 2007 or 2008.  I'm looking to increase my cook capacity.  I would like to to go with the XL Woo Adjustable Rig combo.  The problem I seem to be running into with and older Egg, the fire ring and box make the grill sit above the felt line, thus not letting the lid close.  What are my options or your suggests.  Thank you all, Brian

Call Tom at Ceramic Grill Store. He is a Egghead and XL owner from way back. He will hook you up.
Can also make a raised grate to rest on top your 24” cooking grate with a Weber 22” cooking grate suspended by carriage bolts.
    Thank you,

100% this. Tom will know what you need. He’s been building these a long time and knows all the changes with the domes/fireboxes/rings over the years. He will hook you up with the right stuff.

i think toms on vacation this week.  you might have the flat dome version, im not sure. more room, you might want a spider, deep or shallow. smaller pizza stone as a deflector and not use the platesetter at all for bigger cooks. and a raised grill. i would find out if you have the flat dome, a pic would help, and with that info email tom and what your needs are. include your phone number. the flat domed xl was great for pizza but you need to be careful with some of the rack setups. toms aware of that setup.
