Ok but you did just drag a turd sandwich out of the appropriate OT section and slap it down on the main board
You guys are confused, as usual.

I'm not talking about individual posts.  I'm talking about entire threads.

Regardless, I put that "turd" into an OT thread, which in my opinion does not belong on the main board.

Ok so your rules are very confusing.  We are allowed to have off-topic discussions on the main board but not start off topic threads? Also does the off-topic discussion have to go on a off-topic thread?
Here's what I think should happen:
    1) people should be encouraged to post all new OT threads in the current OT sub-forum
    2) the Buffalo moves all OT threads currently on the main board into the OT area
    3) On occasion where someone "breaks the rules" and starts an OT thread on the main board (whether labeled OT or not), the Buffalo or one of the other mods simply moves it to the OT subforum
    4) If someone inserts an OT comment into an on-topic thread on the main board, people just ignore it or tell the poster to pick it up elsewhere

The viewership of the pure OT section of the forum is quite lean compared with the main board.  Thus if you want to provide some non BGE but useful information the accepted approach is to label it OT and place on the main board.
I'm sure the lack of viewers on the true OT section is a John grievance but I could be missing the mark all the way around.
This^^^ OT forum was banned from main forum, so it is pretty political, sometimes heated, and definitely not for the timid.

If you want people to see your posts, then label OT, and put on main forum.  People can just ignore OT threads they don't care about.  Seems to have worked well so far.  Not sure when we went off the rails.

My other grievance would be OT threads that are posted to the main board (such as this one), even when "OT" is added to the title.  We have an OT section of the forum and that is where all OT content should be posted, or eventually relocated by one of the many mods here who read all of the threads every day and always act expeditiously.
Nice deflection brother, are you perhaps running for office?
Not a deflection at all, that is a legit grievance.  I think the forum would function a lot better were all of the OT stuff moved or found in the OT area, so that the main board would consist only of threads by new people or unique/interesting threads, with the occasional lump thread thrown in for good measure.

Imagine if all of the "what are you <insert activity> right now?" threads were moved to the OT area.  My opinion is that this would improve the way the forum works pretty significantly.

siding with the buffalo.... didnt little rascal just pull that stunt.....hmmmm
This isn't siding with the Buffalo, because the Buffalo does not (currently) actively move OT threads to the OT area.  He lets them stay on the main board, or he sinks them or deletes them.  I am asking for something different from what the Buffalo currently does.

you stand corrected. its been moved

Only two have been moved so far.  Color me skeptical that many more will actually follow.

I am actually totally fine with people doing whatever here.  Post wherever, thread wherever. It’s only people like @Ozzie_Isaac who get bent out of shape when one of their sacred cows of a thread gets disturbed…

I keep a running tally of all members, I have an All-Star category that is heavily weighted for kindness and helpfulness.

@lousubcap is ahead by 3/4 of a point.
@Botch would be first, but he received deductions for off-topic posts.
