Spring Refresh of my old XL BGE, going all Stainless Steel

I’ve owned my egg for over 10 years now and actually bought it right around the time the BGE changed the dome height on the XLs to make it higher.  Luckily my dealer was kind enough to make sure I knew that there was a new design coming out so encouraged me to wait for it, which I did.  Now I use to be a heavy user, at least twice a week for years, but over the last 4 years life has gotten in the way a bit.  For a time my egg just sat underneath its cover with the eggcessories rotting away.  I have slowly but surely gotten back into it over the last year so thought it was high time for a refresh.  I decided to go all stainless steel with ceramic grill stores kick ash basket and can along with their SS drip pan.  I also just picked up a replacement XL grate from my dealer which is now Stainless as well.  Finished things off with changing out the dome thermometer to the new larger one and replacing my gasket with a Rutledge.  So for a little over $300 my XL is basically a whole new man of steel setup.  Feels great to get it upgraded, especially after spending so much on the original egg and Challenger Grill cart.  Have to say that my egg is still in perfect condition even after all these years which is a real testament to its build quality.

Haha, I actually did right after I took that pic. I forget who made the handle for me but it was someone on the forum.
