@SonVolt , I got curious and duplicated the order (minus pizza pans and gripper) at GiMetal.

GiMetal was only $20 shipping compared to Webstraunts $78.80.

Unit price was slightly less on Webstraunt, but GiMetal didn't charge tax.

With free shipping Webstraunt was $36 cheaper, without free shipping they would have been $43 more expensive.

I wish I could be like my wife and just order what I want and not get hung up on spending hours trying to save $30.

You are all a terrible influence.  There are a million versions of all these things, here is what I finally settled on.  Handles seem overly long, but after practicing with a broom stick they should work.  Wish the shovel came in 47", but it was not available in that length from this site.  I almost got an ember tool too, but decided I could just use the shovel, or make one from some scrap I have laying around.

For the launching peel, I'd probably go with 1 size larger than you plan to make. So if you're shooting for a 12" pizza get the 14" peel.
The opening on my oven is 18", so I thought a 12" peel is about as large as I should go until I become more proficient.  I am completely new at this and outside of some YouTube videos and your folks help I am clueless.

I have 30 days to learn and order more tools.  I have a free 30 membership to webstraunt.com which gives free shipping.  Without that, the shipping from all places I tried was extremely expensive (~$100) the one place with "free shipping" made up for it in the unit price.  The old adage remains true, TANSTAAFL.  I was not able to find any gi metal dealers in my town.

Did you try GI Metals website? I think I paid $15 in shipping the last time I ordered from them direct.

Interesting on the Webstaurant program, b/c their shipping rates have always been outrageous for me.
I got to the point where I had to create an accountant to see shipping, I did not go further.  Maybe I should have.

Webstraunt's shipping was outrageous so I initially stopped the order process.  After another few hours searching and trying combinations of options from other sites I bit the bullet and signed up for free month of free shipping, then $99/month after.  Supposedly I can cancel at anytime, so I plan to cancel in a few weeks.  The price overall between GiMetal online store and Webstraunt was close, with the edge going to Webstraunt.  Only issue was the lengths of each piece was a bit different.  Would have just preferred all 47" lengths.

Hopefully it all works out.  In the future I will order direct from GiMetal if there shipping really is more reasonable.

You can cut those aluminum handles down to whatever length you desire. There's a plastic endcap you can pop back on so there's no sharp edges.

I just measured, my pizza oven opening is 25". I use a 12" peel, but often make much larger diameter pizzas.

My trick is I use a 18" wooden pizza paddle to make pizzas on. I find with generous flour (or corn starch) underneath, it doesn't stick as much as it can on the steel peel.  We literally roll the doe straight on that wooden paddle.  Once it is in, I give the wooden paddle back to my wife, to make the next pizza, and switch to the 12" steel peel to move the pizza around in the oven.

Now, given your opening is 18" ... if you can find a 16" wooden paddle ... it may be helpful for you to make larger pizzas. If not ... you're stuck with the 12" peel.

Once you get used to the perforated aluminum peels it's hard to go back to the wooden ones.  You can make your pizza on the counter, then just slide the peel under the pizza a few inches and flick the whole pizza back onto the peel by jerking the handle back towards you.  Once you get the hang of it it's a lot quicker and more satisfying.  You can't really do this with wood as easily due to the thickness.

Here's an example. You can't be shy with it - just get in there and do it. It's a lot easier than you think as long as you don't limp wrist it. The dough knows when you're scared.

My gi metal peel is 13 inch.  Which works well.  The wooden are 14 inch.  They work fine.  I use Seminola flour sprinkled on the wood peel to slide them off and into place.

Me.  Pick up phone and call.  I'd like to place an order.  Do you accept military LEO government AAA  AARP or any other discounts.  Usually do.  Find out I'd there's a package deal or kit that includes what your ordering and maybe get more bang for the buck or a freebie

That was how I ordered all the outdoor kitchen hardware.  Called and talked to the rep.  Saved me a few hundred.  Outside that, my luck lately has been negligible.  A few times I have been told, these are the old prices and when we get our next shipment in prices will be going up, so no negotiation.  Not saying GiMetal would say that, but I have been given that relatively new response twice in as many weeks.  That is even assuming they can get what you want.

I should have tried that this time, but honestly didn't think too.

Don't do it.  I have lit one fire, ordered more tools than most people have in their kitchen and just offered to sell it to a friend who wants one, because I already want a bigger one.

I have been vacillating for years.  I would want a free standing, wood burning, something with a 25" opening.  The problem is swmbo does not like any char, leopard spots ok though.  I hate to get into a 3k pizza oven and burn pizza after pizza.

Look at the dome by gozney (roccbox) company.  I am on the fence for it for a bit now.  Someone on this forum has one.  I just don’t remember their username.

I have a dome, and I absolutely love it. Great oven. I haven’t used wood yet and it’s on my todo list here soon. I just scrolled through my photo album and realized I have taken only one pic, and it’s a boring one. I bought the stand with it and it’s great quality. I hang out in the Facebook Gozney dome group and there are a small number of people whining about the stone cracking. Most it’s cosmetic, but a few I have seen where the floor shifted. The stone is not user replaceable so some people have had to send it back for repair. I plan on not worrying about that when it happens. It’s like a cracked fire box, expect it and move along. Its probably just 16".  I usually cook 12"-14".  Its not a huge oven.  There are some people that squeeze two ten inchers in there, but I don't think its optimal, it seems it is done more to prove that it can be done than being practical.

Man, if they made a 24" (maybe they do?) that would be amazing. I bet that cost a pretty penny though!

I’m sure it’s 24” or more wide inside,  but I think the opening is just 16 maybe 18. Big enough to cook the biggest pizza I’d make. They make really big commercial ovens as well.

Should have taken your advice first time around, just ordered a 14" perforated peel to go with the 12" peel.  Totally unnecessary, but since I still have free shipping, I want to get what I can now.  After using the oven a few times, I absolutely love it.  The Gi Metal tools are very nice.
