    The corruption of most sport governing bodies, be they the IOC, USOC, FIFA, NCAA, etc. should never surprise me but I'm quite gobsmacked by the IOC/Court of Arbitration for Sport decision regarding the young PED taking Russian female skater Kamila Valieva.

    Congrats to Kaillie Humphries for winning monobob gold for Canada US. 

    I guess her defection (or Prince Harry’s) is perfect example of why US is by far and away the best country ever  :smile: 

    Sadly/Interestingly, what drove her was mental and verbal abuse by American coach Todd Hays hired by Bobsleigh Canada?  I suppose her defection is more legit than AiLing Gu’s since the latter was never abused.

    Programming Note to the IOC: mebbe run the HalfPipe comps before the downhill Freestyle?  This is so boring after what we watched last night.  
     
    I've skied the Halfpipe at Snowbasin in 2002, and actually got some air (well, I fell off the chairlift during dismount, but I think that counts).  :p  
     
    (Oes Noes, along with allowing zooming in on photos (slowing my system down considerably) Mr. Buffalo also adopted those new smilies which are very hard to see (wonder if that's a Mac thing, they're harder to see on my new 16" macbook than they were on on Wintel machine at work, 4 years ago...)).

    I knew the final results this morning.  Just watched the 15-year-old russian skater fail her final skate (if fourth in the Olympics can be considered a failure).  And I'm just sick.
    No idea if she even knew she'd been "chemically" tampered with by the russians.  So much stress/attention on her, worldwide, and she's been crying a lot during the last few days.  The stress reared its ugly head during her last skate.  
    She's only 15.  
     
    And, the three medalists above her, were ALL crying.  This isn't right.  It just isn't right.  A couple folks near the top of this thread said they wouldn't be watching this Olympics; I think I wish I'd followed their lead.  
    Putin, as of the news tonight, has now shelled a kindergarten in east Ukraine, and WWIII may begin tomorrow (if it hasn't already).  
    I'm just sick.

    Wow.  Definitely no hate here, yep.  Pure joy, obviously.  

    I don’t think plenty of members are clicking the dislike button on my posts.  I think it’s the same couple of cowards hiding behind the anonymity that it provides.  Total mystery as to who they might be… nobody can even guess, lol.  

    As for Stv8r, I don’t recall personally attacking him.  I just remember him calling me a communist, and blaming me and all of liberal academia for all of society’s ills.  Something like that.  You clowns are high on your own supply with this sh!t.

    For shits and grins, I "disliked" a bunch of posts yesterday, so that "Plenty of Members" would cream their/his jeans, thinking that a movement was afoot. Then, undid the "dislikes" now. So, those single "dislikes" are back to being from "Plenty of Members". 

    Yes, I was a little bored. Yes, it made me giggle. Kinda like Plenty of Members and "Let's go, Brandon!" 

    Back to (ir)regularly scheduled programming.
