Friends of ours have a 4.5lb pork leg steak they want to cook. It’s about 1.5” thick. Any tips on how to cook one of those?

I am struggling to understand what that is exactly. I pictured a 1.5" thick slice of pork butt, but that wouldn't weigh 4.5# I don't think since a whole butt roast is 5-8 pounds.
That's a large, thin slice of meat.
Everything I read says grill it. But, could they roll it, tie it and cook it low and slow?Clinton, Iowa -
It’s actually like a thick boneless pork chop/roast. I’ve suggested to my friend they slice it in half lengthwise to thin it down, let it sit out on the counter for an hour and cook hot and fast on the grill 6-7 minutes a side or so until 145-150 internal. That’s what I’m thinking.

That sounds like a good way to go. Interesting cut of meat, I haven't ever prepared one like that. I would be curious to hear how it turns out.Clinton, Iowa

Sounds like a good candidate for @cazzy's monster chops treatment:

I saw this from one of the Texas guys (egger Ave) a while back. I made it once and it was excellent.
