Flamin Hot Chicken

A good bit under the weather so I decided to cook indoors and clear out my sinuses. Cooked in my anova precision oven. Turned out spicy and delicious!

  • Looks righteous, brother! That coating looks as thick as it does spicy!

Turned out really good! First time venturing into making this. My sinuses are so messed up that it is a bit hard to say how hot it was. I feel like a could just about eat all the spicy things right now to help clear my head cold.

What's the heat source??  Love me some hot food.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Lots of chipotle, habanero, some jalapeño, some ghost pepper, arbol chilies. Black pepper and mustard powder in the dredge.

Finished with some of David changs spicy seasoning salt, and Maldons flaky salt.

And not pictured, a drizzle of kens chicken hot sauce.

Thanks as I really enjoy the flavor of habaneros and you upped it with the ghosties.  Great color right there.  Clearly presenting heat!

Does the Anova cooker work like an air fryer as well?

Yes it does allow for air fry cooking. I love the precision oven! Sous vide with it, proof breads with it, steam veggies, air fry, etc. All with the one device.

  • Have a basic recipe or outline? I am definitely intrigued and would love to try this out in my Anova.

I like spicy food.  In this case, it may be over the top, IMO.  Do you taste the chicken?  It sounds possible that the chicken has turned into nothing more than a delivery vehicle for the spicy coating.  Sort of like a chip being a vehicle for the dip.
