In search of solid BBQ places within around 20 miles of Killeen, TX-

Friends have a mandatory road-trip to Killeen late next week.  Figure the radius of Central Texas brisket has enough range... So , if anyone has any Q establishment recommendations, feel free to post 'em up.

Cap - there’s always Rudy’s bbq and that’s right there in Killeen (Banana pudding is covered).  After that, if you’re up for a road trip there is coopers in Llano. Up for fun is freeman’s in Austin… cuz you can go out afterwards. 

You’ve had snow’s so what can you do after that?

Rudy's #37 is probably the best Rudy's.   People say better than Franklin.  Everyone is talking about it.

Tough sledding over there Cap. Louie Mueller is an hour from Killeen. By far the best option in that area.

Sent you a text but I’ll post here as well in case anyone is following along at home. 

Miller’s Smokehouse got a nice write up in Texas Monthly 4-5 years ago. I went right after and did not think it was anything special. It was like 3 in the afternoon so it could have been that. Anyway, they are highly rated on google/yelp and have a lot of reviews. If your friends don't want to drive the 30-40 miles (55 min) to Louie’s, i would send them to Millers
