reggulator silicone tip

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement silicone tip for my reggulator? It seems mine didn't survive my moving. Thanks for any help.

Small tip: do not use any glue (even if the original seems to have been glued on). The superglue/plastic glue I used simply did not work when you want to actually operate it as intended.

I used a two component unbreakable-once-dry product after mine simply came loose when I tried to open the reggulator. Worked like a charm.

My dealer had never heard of this issue and had no clear solution.

I just made my own using a piece of wooden dowel. Drilled a hole in the tab so a nail would hold it in place.

    Nice job.

Thanks - I made a similar one for my stainless Smoke Ware tab as THAT tab really does get hot!

Would have to look it up, I am in Belgium so a brand will probably not do you much good. Returning from a camping trip tomorrow, will look into it on Saturday (name and pictures if I get it to work!).

As promised some pictures. I know of the wrongly rotated picture issue on mobile devives, how can I solve this again?

In any case, it seems Loctite also exists in the US.
I just kneaded untill a smooth paste and pressed till all remaining product came out on the sides. Cleaned the residue and the indentations with a regular wet wipe. Rock solid and the tip is still as flexible as before.

Please let me know if you would have more questions, happy to help.

Mine has been gone so long I forgot until now it it existed at one time. You are really fine without it.

Definitely, I use gloves anyways when adjusting the top vent (for no reason really, just general BBQ safety). It does look 'better' with the tip on imo, so I preferred fixing it as it didn't get lost. Don't think I would go through a lot of hassle to actually replace it.
  • That tip gets super hot without the silicone.  Thanks for the info, @iudex.

I used some Gorilla Glue and it held up for awhile.  I will look for some Kintsuglue.

Although, I doubt they will let us have it because it probably caused cancer in a lab rat once.  I am surprised they let me use charcoal...
